Democracy is like beauty it is in the eyes of the beholder, every nation claimes to be democratic, even the Taliban claimes to be democratic. The cross in the box is no guarantee of progress for the poor who are the majority. Those who get the majority of the cross in the box win the race and the majority lose. For the poor in most places in the world voting is like electing your rapist whoever wins you get fucked.

A democracy is a society in which the citizens are sovereign and control the government. This happens nowhere in our world. Government by the people for the people is not a reality anywhere in this world. Public servants are not playing the role of servants and people have a voice, but no one is listening. The world is full of foolish leaders of so called democratic nations. Socrates had his say and Plato  and millions more since then and the search goes on to find or define democracy. On the road we have to ask questions like if the majority is in favour of something does that make it a good idea? history suggest not. We have different ways of governing and the democratic way is far away In some nation when the people protest they beat them up. In other nations when the people protest they ignore them. In the end its about perserving the system and you can call it what you want.
